As a member of the Senate Finance Committee, one of my top priorities has been to protect general aviation jobs and investments in Kansas. Aviation is one of the leading industries in our state and employs tens of thousands of residents in south central Kansas. I fully understand its importance to our state economy, which is why I have worked for a number of years to ensure that no legislation coming before the Senate included a user fee tax. I’ve been successful in this endeavor so far, but will remain vigilant.
