Senators Roberts and Dole Visit with
Veterans at World War II Memorial.
Throughout our nation's history brave men and women have answered the call to duty to protect and preserve freedom and liberty. In grateful response, our nation is guided by President Lincoln's charge to, "Care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and orphan." Veterans returning from current military engagements serve as a strong reminder of this solid commitment.
I have long been a supporter of our nation's veterans and their many sacrifices. Rest assured, I will continue to work with my colleagues in the Senate to keep our commitment to our veterans and ensure that Kansas veterans have access to high quality health care and benefits.
