WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) today released the following statement on the nomination of DC Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.

“I congratulate Judge Kavanaugh on his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. I will vote to confirm a nominee that will uphold the Constitution and will not legislate from the bench. Judge Kavanaugh has a solid reputation as a great legal mind. I take my responsibility of 'advice and consent' very seriously and look forward to the Judiciary Committee’s thorough vetting of Judge Kavanaugh’s record. I look forward to meeting Judge Kavanaugh and hope for a fair confirmation process.”

Senator Roberts attended President Trump’s announcement at the White House on Monday night.
