WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced that the Senate passed the 2010 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, which includes more than $1.8 million in important Kansas projects.

"The Interior bill contains almost two million dollars for improvements critical to many Kansas communities," Senator Roberts said. "These local projects will make significant investments in infrastructure throughout Kansas."

Senator Roberts personally worked to secure the following project:

City of Iola - drinking water and wastewater pipe improvements project -$300,000

Senators Roberts and Brownback worked together to secure the following projects:

                          Colonial Fox Theater, Pittsburg - restoration projects -$500,000

 

City of Junction City - construction of a drinking water project -$250,000

 

City of Prescott - wastewater treatment plant construction project -$170,800

 

City of Wichita - storm water technology pilot project -$129,200

 

City of Manhattan - sewer mainline extension project -$185,000

 

City of Manhattan - Konza Water Main Extension project-$290,000

The bill must now go to a conference committee to resolve differences in the House of Representatives and Senate versions of the bill. The conference report must then be approved by both chambers before it heads to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
