WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $592,500 grant to the Southeast Kansas Education Service Center in Girard for principal training.

The funds will be used to develop innovative programs that recruit, train, and mentor principals and assistant principals in Southeast Kansas. The grant will serve eight high-need school districts with 25 schools, 27 current principals or assistant principals, and 400 potential principals and teaching staff.

The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Education’s School Leadership Program. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
