WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $64,800 grant for economic development in Southeast, Kansas.

The Southeast Kansas Regional Planning Commission based in Chanute will receive funds to implement a comprehensive economic development strategy for the region which serves Allen, Anderson, Bourbon, Cherokee, Coffey, Crawford, Labette, Linn, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson counties. The funds will be used to bring together public and private sectors to develop an economic development roadmap to create jobs and strengthen the regional economy.

The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA).
