WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $4.79 million in housing grants for the Wichita area.
“These new homes will enrich the Wichita area community and help those in need,” Senator Roberts said.
• American Dream Downpayment Initiative (ADDI): $38,634 which promotes homeownership opportunities by providing resources for downpayment and closing cost assistance to low-income and minority households.
• Community Development Block Grants (CDBG): $2,919,233 to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income people.
• Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG): $126,435 to improve the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters.
• HOME Program: $1,711,267 helps to expand the supply of decent, affordable housing to low and very low-income families by funding local housing programs that meet local needs and priorities.
The grants were awarded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
