WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $200,000 grant to the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas for law enforcement.

The grant will be used to support the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Victim Services Unit (VSU). The funds will be used to implement a fifteen month program to continue law enforcement services and enhance the local criminal justice system to better serve the needs and improve the quality of life of its citizens. The program will enhance police-based victim services and improve the capacity of law enforcement to successfully investigate and prosecute criminal cases.

The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance.
