WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $3.49 million in housing grants for the Kansas City area.
“These new homes will strengthen the Kansas City area community and help those in need,” Senator Roberts said.
• Community Development Block Grants (CDBG): $2,499,400 to develop viable urban communities by providing housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income people.
• Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG): $107,100 to improve the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters.
• HOME Program: $889,100 helps to expand the supply of affordable housing to low and very low-income families by funding local housing programs that meet local needs and priorities.
The grants were awarded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
