WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $543,000 in housing grants were awarded in Wichita, Lawrence, Manhattan, Olathe, Salina and Topeka.
• City of Wichita: $172,912 for Family Self Sufficiency program, which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.
• Lawrence-Douglas County Housing Authority: $73,111 for Family Self Sufficiency program which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency and $59,859 for Public and Indian Housing Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) program to coordinate supportive services, resident empowerment activities, and activities that assist residents in attaining economic self-sufficiency and elderly residents and residents with disabilities to continue to live independently.
• Manhattan Housing Authority: $36,643 for Family Self Sufficiency program which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.
• City of Olathe: $47,975 for Family Self Sufficiency program which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.
• Salina Housing Authority: $55,550 for Family Self Sufficiency program which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency and $55,000 for Public and Indian Housing Resident Opportunity and Self Sufficiency (ROSS) program to coordinate supportive services, resident empowerment activities, and activities that assist residents in attaining economic self-sufficiency and elderly residents and residents with disabilities to continue to live independently.
• Topeka Housing Authority: $42,298 for Family Self Sufficiency program which coordinates the use of assistance under the Housing Choice Voucher programs with public and private resources to enable participating families to achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency.
