WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced a $25,144 grant to the city of Great Bend for law enforcement equipment.
The funds will be used to purchase firearms and computer equipment. Barton County will use half of the award to purchase firearms such as tasers, Glock pistols, holsters, and magazines that are less than lethal. The city of Great Bend will upgrade its computer system through the purchases of a new server, server software, work stations, and computer monitors.
The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and made available by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
