WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced $358,000 in grants for Hillsdale and Perry State Parks to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks in Pratt.
Hillsdale State Park: $188,083 to develop the infrastructures in Scott Creek Campground at Hillsdale State Park. The infrastructure items include the campground, cabin sites, shower facility and an improved lagoon. The 2,800 acres park is located northeast of the city of Paola and west of Route 169.
Perry State Park: $170,000 to install a new water line system to support all current campsites and campgrounds throughout the park. The water line will begin at the park entrance to the west and follow the road path to and near the developed areas and end on the south eastern tip of the park boundary. The water line supports the entire 1,500 acres. The 1,500 acres park is located west of Route 59 near the city of Ozawkie in Jefferson County. The park is part of a larger reservoir and the surrounding lands, used mostly for recreation.
The grants were awarded by the Land and Water Conservation Fund under the National Park Service.
