WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $650,000 loan and a $17,050 grant to Mound City for new construction.

The funds will be used for the construction of a new city building that will include a new city hall, community center, library, and a storm shelter. The new facility will serve Mound City, with a population of 821 and surrounding areas. These funds will be used in conjunction with the applicant contribution of $100,000.

The loan and grant were awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
