WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced two loans and a grant totaling more than $2 million for development in Greensburg.

The funds awarded to the Kiowa County Commission in Greensburg.

• $100,000 loan: will be used to provide funding for Phase II of County Shop/Maintenance Facilities (storage). The original facility was destroyed by the EF5 tornado that occurred in May 2007.

The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office under the Community Facility Direct Loan and Grant Program. These projects serve a population of 2,500 and additional funding will come from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) and other local funding sources. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and has been unwavering in his support for rebuilding the community of Greensburg.
