    WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $156,000 grant to Kansas State University from the Department of Agriculture’s National Needs Graduate Fellowship Grant Program.

    At Kansas State, this Food Industry Management Enhancement Program will train students for master’s and or doctoral degrees and fellowships in the following areas: agriculture genomics and bioinformatics, natural resources and the environment, agricultural systems and natural resource engineering, agricultural management and economics, food science, human nutrition, sciences for agricultural biosecurity, and training in sustainable sciences.

    The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service.

    Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
