    WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced that a $82,500 grant was awarded to the Disability Rights Center of Kansas, in Topeka.

    The grant provides funding to enable the Disability Rights Center of Kansas to protect and advocate for the rights of individuals with mental illness. The funding will be used to investigate incidents of abuse and neglect of individuals with mental illness.

    The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

    Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee.
