Sen. Pat Roberts Congratulates Senator Dole's Appointment to the Eisenhower Memorial Commission
Sep 24 2019
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), Chairman of the Eisenhower Memorial Commission, congratulates Senator Bob Dole on his Presidential Appointment to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Commission.
“I’m delighted to see President Trump recognize the years of hard work and dedication Senator Bob Dole has devoted to helping build a memorial to President Eisenhower,” said Sen. Roberts. “I could think of no one more suited to the mission of building this memorial than Bob, who proudly served our country in World War II under General Eisenhower. We’ve worked hand-in-hand on the project since Bob joined the team in 2015, just two Kansans working to honor Kansas’ favorite son. The presidential appointment is a well-deserved honor.”
Senator Dole currently serves as the Finance Chairman for the campaign for the Eisenhower Memorial, a position he was appointed to by Chairman Roberts in September 2015. Construction on the Eisenhower Memorial is underway. It will open on the 75th anniversary of V-E Day on May 8, 2020.
