WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $1 million grant for Smith Center Municipal Airport for runway construction.

The grant will be used to construct a new primary runway which will allow the current runway, Runway 17/35, to become the crosswind.

The funds were awarded to the City of Smith Center by the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration.
