WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) today announced $8.5 million in grants from the Department of Health and Human Services to combat coronavirus in rural areas. The University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute will receive $828,571 for telehealth resources and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment will receive $7,672,847 for small rural hospital improvement program. “I applaud the Department of Health and Human Services’ announcement that Kansas will receive $8.5 million in grants for rural communities,” said Senator Roberts. “Rural areas of our state need assistance during this pandemic and I’m glad to see HHS provide funding for essential telehealth services that they rely on.” For more information on these grants, go here. |
