WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) today applauded the Senate Judiciary Committee’s approval of President Trump’s nomination of Holly Teeter, of Lenexa, to serve as U.S. Federal District Court Judge for the District of Kansas. Her nomination was approved with strong bipartisan support and now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
“Holly is an outstanding candidate to serve as a district court judge in our state,” Robert said. “I continue to be impressed by her intellect, integrity, character, and experience. She has a broad range of professional experience, including two clerkships at the federal district court level and current service as Assistant U.S. Attorney. I have no doubt Ms. Teeter will do an excellent job ensuring Kansans are treated fairly in the federal courtroom.”
Teeter served as law clerk to current Kansas District Court Judge Carlos Murguia. In a letter of support for Teeter’s nomination, Murguia said, “She has the legal ability and temperament to serve successfully on the federal bench, and her diverse personal and professional background would benefit our district and the public…Holly is a very skilled attorney who displays an appropriate judicial temperament and would bring many unique perspectives and skills to our bench. She is a committed public servant, who after clerking, chose a career in the public sector rather than return to the financial benefits of the private sector.”
Roberts introduced Teeter before the Senate Judiciary Committee on October 17, 2017. To read or view Roberts’ introduction, click here. I urge my colleagues to swiftly confirm Holly Teeter on the Senate floor.”
