WASHINGTON, DC – Following the State of Emergency due to severe winter storms hitting much of the state February 1, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts today said he would work closely with Governor Sam Brownback to ensure an immediate recovery effort.
“With severe blizzard conditions, wind and snow accumulations, I have offered Governor Brownback whatever assistance the state needs to ensure swift emergency and recovery efforts,” Roberts said. “FEMA has already deployed staff and has pre-staged equipment to Kansas in anticipation of possible storm damage and emergency needs. Even as the snow still falls, state and federal officials, led by Governor Brownback, are already on the job.”
