WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts today released the following statement regarding Veterans Day tomorrow:

"Today marks the time when our nation pauses to recognize the many contributions of the generations of men and women who have worn the uniform. Their courage, their dedication to the causes of liberty and freedom, and their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice in the protection of this nation deserves our unqualified gratitude," Senator Roberts said.

"On this day, a group of WWII veterans are making their way to Washington DC to visit the WWII Memorial on the National Mall that was built and dedicated in their honor as part of the Honor Flight Network," Roberts said. "From this Marine, for their service and sacrifice of those members of the Greatest Generation to those who now serve in the current military engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan, I give you my heartfelt thanks. Semper fi."
