WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced $723,300 in grants and loans to Crawford County Fire District #2 located in Franklin, KS.

The funds will be used to construct a facility with 4 bays holding two trucks each, training/meeting rooms, and a storm shelter room available for the community. The new location is a more central location within the district and will provide better response time to emergency calls. The service area of the district includes the City of Mulberry and the townships of Lincoln and Washington.

The grant of $50,000 and loan of $673,300 were awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
