WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $7.3 million rural electric loan for areas in Western Kansas.
The funds will be used to serve 1,289 consumers by building 135 miles of new distribution line, making improvements to 41 distribution lines and making other system improvements. The loan will benefit the following counties: Finney, Gove, Hodgeman, Lane, Logan, Ness and Scott.
The loan was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office to Radiant Electric Cooperative, Inc. in Fredonia. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
