WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $4.5 million rural electric loan for areas in South Central Kansas.
The funds will be used to serve 144 new consumers, building 65 miles of new distribution line, and make other system improvements. The loan will benefit the following counties: Barber, Comanche, Edwards, Kiowa, Pawnee, Pratt, Reno, Stafford, Harper, and Kingman.
The loan was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office to Ninnescah Rural Electric Cooperative, Association in Pratt. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
