WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $3.8 million rural electric loan for areas in North Central Kansas.
The funds will be used to serve 155 new consumers building five miles of new distribution line and making other system improvements. The loan will benefit the following counties: Barton, Clay, Cloud, Ellsworth, Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Osborne, Ottawa, Phillips, Republic, Rooks, Russell, Saline, Smith and Washington.
The loan was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office to Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative, Inc. in Mankato. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
