Senator Roberts Statement on 1,000 Days without a Budget

“Americans need certainty from their government to help our economic recovery. One-thousand days is plenty of time for leadership, just look at Kansas.”

Jan 24 2012

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) today released the following statement highlighting the fact that it’s been 1,000 days since the Democrat-controlled Senate has failed to consider a budget:

“What can happen in 1,000 days? In Wichita we made over 4,000 airplanes and jets. In 1,000 days our Kansas farmers growing winter wheat have had two harvests with a third ripening in the fields. Americans are working hard, taking care of their families and doing the best they can in a tough economy. They deserve a government that does the same. The Senate Democratic leadership is asking a lot of the American people to keep them waiting over 1,000 days for a budget. Americans need certainty from their government to help our economic recovery. One-thousand days is plenty of time for leadership, just look at Kansas.”
