WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts today will head to Riley County and the surrounding region to ensure emergency response is meeting the needs of local residents. Roberts will survey the area with Senator Sam Brownback, Governor Kathleen Sebelius and Adjutant General Todd Bunting.

Senator Roberts has been in close contact with the Governor’s office, state emergency response officials, the White House and FEMA to expedite disaster declarations as damage assessments are finalized.

"My thoughts and prayers are with those communities that have been hard hit by these storms," Senator Roberts said. "We are working hard to bring any possible assistance your way."

Details on Senator Roberts’ trip will be made available to the media as soon as travel arrangements are finalized.
