Senator Roberts: $690,000 to Kansas State University for Biomass Research and Development

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $690,000 grant to Kansas State University (KSU) for a Biomass Research and Development Initiative.
The funds will be used to address research and development of biomass based products, bioenergy, biofuels and related processes. This project will address the Product Diversification technical topic area. Additionally, this project will demonstrate pelletizing forage crops and perennial grasses in the field to increase cellulosic ethanol production.
The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
