WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $24,600 grant to the city of Dodge City for law enforcement equipment.
The funds will be used to purchase a computer voice stress analyzer and a digital dictation system. The equipment is needed by the police department as dramatically increased narcotics seizures north and east of the city have been traced back to Dodge City. The computer voice stress analysis computer will provide access to a truth verification system for use by the Dodge City Police Department and the Ford County Sheriff’s Department. The digital dictation system will be used by all officers and detectives to produce investigative reports.
The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and made available by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
