Senator Roberts Announces over $1.8 Million in Housing Grants to Lawrence and Leavenworth

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $1.8 million in housing grants in Leavenworth and Lawrence.
• Lawrence: $828,822 for Community Development Block Grants program which provides grants to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons.
• Lawrence: $643,923 for HOME program that helps to expand the supply of decent and affordable housing to low and very low income families to fund housing programs that meet local needs.
• Leavenworth: $369,552 for Community Development Block Grants program which provides grants to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons.
The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
