WASHINGTON, DC – Today U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced a $13,100 grant to the city of Parsons for law enforcement equipment.

The funds will be used to purchase a new audio transcorder, upgrading from analog recording/transmitting to digital. It will also purchase barcode scanners and printers, and desktop computers that will enhance information sharing capabilities among law enforcement agencies and the judicial system. Labette County will purchase 19-Glock laser sights for the Sheriff’s Department’s guns.

The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and made available by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
