Senator Roberts Announces $188,000 in Housing Grants to Burlington, Chanute, Dodge City and Wichita

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $188, 000 in Housing Preservation Grants in Burlington, Chanute, Dodge City and Wichita.
• $50,000 to Coffey County Housing Authority in Burlington: for 17 low to very low income families for the repair and rehabilitation of their owner-occupied homes.
• $50,000 to City of Chanute: for seven low to very low income families for the repair and rehabilitation of their owner-occupied homes.
• $48,133 to Great Plains Development, Inc. in Dodge City: for eight low to very low income families for the repair and rehabili9tattion of their owner-occupied homes.
• $40,000 to South Central Kansas Economic Development District, Inc. in Wichita: for eleven low to very low income families for the repair and rehabilitation of their owner-occupied homes.
The grants will help enhance the quality of life, increase accessibility and usefulness of rural homes for the elderly, handicapped and disabled homeowners while enhancing energy efficiency and reducing overcrowding.
The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
