Senator Roberts Announces $13,700 Grant for Coffeyville and Montgomery County Crimefighting Equipment

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced a $13,700 grant to the city of Coffeyville for crimefighting equipment.
The grant will be used to purchase tactical equipment and related accessories. The Coffeyville Police Department will purchase seven patrol rifles and seven vehicle mounted rifle locks for each of its patrol cruisers and three additional X26 tasers. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will purchase three Heckler and Koch MP5 weapons to partially equip its newly formed tactical team.
The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.
