WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts today issued the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision declaring President Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board unconstitutional:

“I am pleased the Supreme Court has upheld the Constitution against a President that attempted to circumvent the Senate by sneaking controversial appointments past the American people.

“Since then, I have fought these unconstitutional appointments. I have joined letters, co-sponsored several pieces of legislation, and filed several amicus briefs in support of the Constitution and against this end run around the Senate.

“I hope the President’s allies in the Congress will reject further power grabs by this President and restore the Senate to its rightful check on the executive.”
