WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced a $6,715,000 loan to improve electric infrastructure and services in South Central Kansas.
The loan was awarded to the Sedgwick County Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. in Cheney. The funds will be used to serve 832 new and existing consumers, build 66 miles of new distribution lines, make improvements to 36 miles of distribution lines, and make other system improvements in Reno, Harvey, Kingman, Sedgwick, and Sumner Counties.
The loan was made available by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office under the Electric Guaranteed Loan Program. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Committee on Agriculture.
