    WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $22 million in loans to Mutual Telephone Company, serving Rice County, and Rural Telephone Service Company, Inc, serving Phillips, Osborne, Smith, Jewell, Trego, Republic, Rooks, Norton, Barton, Gove, Graham, Decatur, Thomas, Russell, Sheridan, and Ellis Counties.

•    $4,080,000 for Mutual Telephone Company in Little River to make system improvements and upgrades.

•    $18,900,000 for Rural Telephone Service Company, Inc. in Lenora to deploy 1,223 new route miles of fiber and copper cable. Additional funds will be used to make system improvements.

    The loans were awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
