WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced $119,257 in grants to Kansas colleges for advanced nurse training.

"I’m pleased to announce these funds. Our nursing force in America is overburdened. In order to improve the quality of health care for all Americans, we need to make this investment in training nurses now," Senator Roberts said. "These grants will help ensure the quality of life for many Kansas residents," Roberts said.

  • Fort Hays State University received $34,787 for advanced nursing education.
  • Pittsburg State University received $26,930 for advanced nursing education.
  • Wichita State University received $57,540 for advanced nursing education.

The funds were awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
