WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $13,151 grant was awarded to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Pittsburg City Police Department. They will evenly divide the funds.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office will use the grant to purchase high quality digital cameras to aid in criminal investigations. The Pittsburg City Police Department will use the funds to purchase safety equipment for low-light situations and alcohol detection systems.
Senator Roberts said, "I am pleased to announce these funds, which are vital to improve crime fighting efforts and first responder needs in Kansas."
The funds were made available by the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program under the United States Department of Justice.
