WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $4,586,000 loan for electrical improvements to seven Western Kansas counties.

Finney, Gove, Hodgeman, Lane, Logan, Ness and Scott counties will be served by the project. The funds will go towards constructing 30 miles of distribution line as well as improvements to the area’s current electric system.

Funding for the project will come through a five-percent hardship rate loan over 35 years.

Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee.
