WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $740,000 Loan for semi trucks and trailers to Midwest Energy, Inc. in Hays.

These funds will be used to provide financing for the purchase of semi trucks and trailers by Calm Creek, LLC. This will assist in the Calm Creek Carriers, LLC in transporting distillers’ by-products for Kansas ethanol production. This project is expected to create twenty new jobs. The funds will be lent to Midwest Energy, Inc. in Hays.

This loan was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office’s Rural Economic Development Loan Program. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
