WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $740,000 loan for a new furnace for the foundry in Norwich.

These funds will be used to provide loans to rural utilities program borrowers to provide economic development. Farrar Corporation will utilize a $740,000 loan from Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. to purchase and install a new metal furnace for the foundry in Norwich. The project will create twelve jobs and save 130 jobs.

This loan was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office’s Rural Economic Development Loan Program. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
