WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced over $32 million in grants for housing opportunities throughout Kansas.

The Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) provide decent housing and a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons. The Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) improve the quality and number of emergency homeless shelters. The HOME programs expands the supply of decent and affordable housing to low- and very low-income families. The HOPWA program provides assistance and services to benefit low-income persons medically diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families.

The grants were awarded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban (HUD) Development.
