WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $297,000 grant to Ellsworth County Medical Center for Distance Learning and Telemedicine.
This grant is awarded to provide education, training, and health care resources for people in rural areas of the country. The exchange of information is a vital part of the economic development, education and health of rural Kansans, and this program provides for the use of telecommunications, computer networks, and advanced technologies in order to enhance healthcare in rural cities.
This grant is awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
