WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) today announced a $96,200 to the Elk County Sheriff’s Department for school law enforcement.

The funds were awarded to the Elk County Sheriff’s Department in Howard to assist with school safety resources and to increase security in local schools.

The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) under the Secure Our Schools (SOS) Grant Program.
