WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, today applauded the selection of Kansas’ “Big First” Congressman Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) to serve on the House Committee on Agriculture continuing the proud tradition of strong Kansas agriculture leadership.
“I am pleased to have a Kansan on the House Agriculture Committee representing the ‘Big First,’ one of the nation’s largest agriculture producing congressional districts. Congressman Marshall will be key to the consideration of the next Farm Bill. I am glad to have him in the House riding shotgun for Kansas’ farmers and ranchers.”
This is Roberts’ second term serving as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee. Roberts is the only Member of Congress in history to hold the titles of both Senate and House Agriculture Committee Chairman and Ranking Member.
