WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) announced a $53, 400 grant to Wichita County Economic Development, Inc. in Leoti.

The funds will be used to provide technical assistance to four counties in western, Kansas. The technical assistance will include financial management classes and workshops designed to meet the needs of small and emerging businesses in Wichita, Kearny, Scott and Sherman counties. It is projected that 21 jobs will be created or saved.

The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Office under the Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program. Senator Roberts is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee.
