Free Trade Agreements

Free Trade Agreements

I have long supported establishing free trade relationships with other countries. The United States has expanded trading relationships with Australia, Mexico, Canada and several other countries and have already seen the benefits. Overall, U.S. exports to FTA partners have grown 20 percent, a faster rate of increase than for U.S. exports in general. I am hopeful that Congress will take up the pending bilateral trade agreements with Columbia and Panama, which currently await action, and moves expeditiously to consider the Korean free trade agreement announced by the administration. As has been demonstrated, trade agreements open new markets for Kansas businesses and farmers and help to foster economic growth.
